The GDBC. was formed in 1971 to support and promote the healthy amateur sport of Boxing in Guernsey.

The Club is a fundraising organisation which not only raises funds through their dinner shows for the boxing fraternity, but also supports many local Guernsey charities.

The Guernsey charities supported just to name a few are: Grow Ltd, St. John Ambulance, Cheshire Homes, A & E, Les Bourgs Hospice and the Ron Short Centre. In 2005 the Club also donated £25,000 to the Guernsey Bowel Awareness fund to help them purchase a much needed and vital scope to help with the fight against bowel cancer in Guernsey.

The GDBC also donates at least £8,000 a year to the Amalgamated Boys Boxing Club of Guernsey together with all the costs involved in staging the four boxing shows each year. In 2006 the GDBC donated £15,000 to the Amalgamated Boys Club and in 2007, the GDBC donated £8,000 to the ABC of Guernsey, £2,000 to the Alderney Boxing Club and the President, Mr David Le Marquand, was pleased to announce a donation of £10,000 to the Chest & Heart unit in the Oberlands, which offers the island wide this valuable free service. During 2009 the club donated a further £10,000 to the Chest & Heart unit, £8,000 to the ABC and £1,000 to the Ron Short centre.

In 2010 we gave £8,000 to the ABC, £1,000 to the Alderney Boxing Club, £1,000 to Jumblance and £500 to Hope Guernsey as one of our members swam the English Channel in 2010.

In 2011 we donated £10,000 to the Chest & Heart unit at the Oberlands.

The GDBC is a very well supported club with over 300 members; we stage four dinner shows each year at the St. Pierre Park Hotel and the dress code black tie is strictly adhered too.

The Functions are held on the same days each year which are the last Fridays in November, January and April along with the middle Friday of March.

To join our club all you have to do is download and print the membership form on this website, fully complete all the details which are self explanatory and fill out the standing order which is a must and return it to our financial secretary, Mr Derek Stuckey, by post.

This will then make you a member of the club and you will be informed of all the forthcoming events by post which you may wish to attend, and don't forget that once a member you are then allowed to bring any guests with you. Members tickets are £45 and guests are £50, your guests must of course also follow the Dress Code.
